It’s good to make mistakes…

“Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes”.

Confucius – you’ve gotta love him.

Now I’m one of the most positive people that I know – I can’t help it, it’s in my blood. I can take the most negative situation and on a bad day at least neutralise it – on a good day I can smash it to pieces with untapped positive energy.

But I can be hard on myself too, and never more so than when I feel I’ve ‘dropped the ball’, lost my focus, or ultimately, made a mistake. However in my view, in thinking that a mistake is a bad thing, you would be making a huge….um…error.

Although tough to realise at the time, it can be much more fulfilling to find things out ‘the hard way’; it’s not what you did wrong that’s important – in most cases this is in the past as soon as it’s happened and can’t be changed -it’s how you harness and subsequently react to the situation that can make the difference.

The right mindset is vital – perceive your mistake as opening a door to an opportunity and you can see things from a completely different perspective – making mistakes, not repeating them and learning from them is a much greater lesson than you could ever be taught in a classroom.

It’s easy to make mistakes when using Social Media commercially as it’s still a relatively new marketing tool and although we’re used to using these myriad platforms daily on a personal level, incorporating their use into business is a different kettle of fish.

As above, making a mistake once and learning from it is a great thing, so feel free to drop me a line if you want to discuss the ways we can avoid making these mistakes across the platforms, and easily transform any existing mistakes into success!
